BUDGET GUIDE

How much does influencer marketing cost?

There is no credible universal price per influencer post. Two creators with the same follower count can provide entirely different value, risk and usage scope. A sound budget separates costs instead of hiding them in one total.

In short

In short

Influencer marketing cost is driven by production work, publication and expected distribution, usage rights, exclusivity, deliverable volume, campaign operations and product or travel expenses. Compare proposals with the same scope and objective; price per follower alone is not a sound basis for a decision.

The complete cost model

Treat total budget as six categories: creator production, distribution, usage rights, campaign operations, direct expenses and paid media. Not every campaign needs all six, but every proposal should say what is included.

CostWhat drives it?
ProductionFormats, concepts, filming, editing and revisions
DistributionAudience relevance, expected reach, channel and publishing requirements
Usage rightsOrganic/paid channels, duration, territory, editing and sublicensing
ExclusivityCompetitors the creator cannot work with and for how long
OperationsSelection, contracts, brief, follow-up, quality assurance, payment and reporting
ExpensesProducts, shipping, travel, location and production resources

Why follower count is not a price list

Follower count says little by itself. Reach varies and the audience can be in the wrong market or irrelevant to the category. Ask for data that fits the objective: geography, audience characteristics where permissible, typical video views, watch time and prior relevant work.

Do not use “micro” as shorthand for cheap or effective. Smaller creators also require production, coordination and fair compensation. The advantage may be relevance and the ability to test more communities.

Allocate the budget by campaign objective

ObjectivePrioritise budget for
Content productionConcepts, hooks, formats and clear usage rights
Relevant attentionCreators with proven audience fit and enough distribution
ConversionTracking, landing page, offer, creator fit and iteration
Launch momentumCoordinated timing, multiple relevant creators and rapid reporting
Long-term programmeWorkflow, creator data, learning and reusable agreements

How to compare proposals

  • Same number and type of deliverables
  • Same channels and publishing window
  • Same definition of an approved delivery and revision
  • Same rights, territory and duration
  • Clear separation of creator fees, media and platform/agency cost
  • Defined reporting and raw-data access
  • Defined handling of deviations, cancellation and failed briefs

Lowest price is not the lowest cost

Manual coordination has a real cost even when it does not appear on the creator invoice. Include hours for search, email, contracts, reminders, file handling, approval, payment and reporting.

Also measure cost per usable delivery. Ten cheap videos that cannot be used or require heavy revision can cost more than fewer well-briefed deliveries with the right usage rights.

Information needed for a comparable estimate

  • Campaign objective and primary audience
  • Markets, languages and channels
  • Desired creators and deliverables
  • Whether creators publish themselves
  • Format, production requirements and timeline
  • Usage rights and exclusivity
  • Product logistics or physical attendance
  • Reporting and tracking needs

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does an influencer charge per post?

There is no reliable universal rate. Price varies by channel, audience, distribution, production, category, rights, exclusivity and demand. Request a proposal for a defined deliverable.

How much does a UGC video cost?

It depends on concept, filming, editing, variations and revisions, plus where and how long the video may be used. A price without rights scope is difficult to compare.

Should creator fees and media spend be separate?

Yes. This shows what pays for production and creator distribution and what funds further paid advertising.

Can Streamline provide a specific price?

Yes, once objectives, deliverables, timeline, market and rights are defined. Share the brief so the scope can be estimated.
